Rick Renwick

Chief Training Officer

A career firefighter since 1990, Rick Renwick became the Chief Training Officer in 2013. The Chief Training Officer is responsible for supervising the Training Officer Team, coordinating the development and implementation of the multi-year training plans, and ensuring that training records and certificates are documented and initiated.

Rick believes that the fire service chose him. As a child, he had visited fire stations in Richmond and Washington state multiple times and aspired to work there, too. He enjoys working with a great team and seeing how a fire crew’s actions can positively impact a negative situation that an individual may experience. He appreciates that the City of Richmond values empower him, and all City staff, to perform with optimum efficiency.
