June 21 to September 21, 2020

The sun comes up, the seasons’ change and The World is Not Your Ashtray campaign champions on!

We continue the hard-fought struggle of preserving Richmond from the dangers, pollution and littering of carelessly discarded cigarette butts.

Annually by identifying high-risk zones and making adjustments to those designated locations, we have progressively diminished our fires over time.

Due to the tireless work of those committed to resolving the cigarette fire issue, Richmond averaged 0.56 cigarette fires per day, which accounted for 36% of all fires in the summer of 2019.

What does 2020 have in store?

We shall see, together we can make a difference.
